Local Easter services planned

Easter is the high point of the church calendar. Many area churches plan special services for this time of year. The following are 2013 services planned at area churches:

Morse Bluff Catholic churches:
Wed., March 27 – “Spy” Wednesday 7 p.m. – Stations of the Cross at Saint George with Confession until completed
March 28 – Holy Thursday 8 p.m. – Mass of the Lord’s Supper (Sacred Heart); 9 p.m. -Midnight – Adoration with Confession until completed. (Sacred Heart)
March 29 – Good Friday 8 a.m. – Office of Readings and Morning Prayer (Saint George). 2 p.m. – Stations of the Cross with Divine Mercy Novena following (Sacred Heart) Confession following until complete
7 p.m. – The Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion (Saint George) Confessions following until completed
March 30 – Holy Saturday 8 a.m. – Office of Readings and Morning Prayer (Sacred Heart); 11 a.m. – Confessions until finished (Saint George)
After sunset (8 p.m.) in accord with ancient tradition – Easter Vigil Mass (Saint George)
March 31 – The Resurrection of the Lord - Regular Sunday Schedule (5th Sunday of the month): 8 a.m. at Sacred Heart, 10 a.m. at Saint George

St. Peter Lutheran Church, North Bend: Thursday, Mar. 28 – 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday Service with communion –
March 29 – 7 p.m. Good Friday Tenebrae Service
Easter Sunday, March 31 – 7 a.m. Sunrise Service with communion. Following the Easter worship service the Senior High Youth will be serving an Easter breakfast in the fellowship hall.

United Presbyterian Church, North Bend, will be having a Maundy Thursday Service at 7 p.m.
On Easter Sunday there will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the Drew von Rein home (1.25 miles north of North Bend), bring lawn chairs. Breakfast will be served by the Youth at the church afterwards.
Easter worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Moses Merrill Camp and Conference Center, located six miles west of Morse Bluff on the Linwood Road, will have a 7:30 a.m. Easter morning service at the outdoor amphitheater on the Moses Merrill grounds. Following the service, a breakfast will be available for a free-will offering.

Ames Community Church will have their Easter day service at 10:30 a.m. with a breakfast following at noon.
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in North Bend will have Holy Thursday services at 6 p.m. with Adoration taking place all night. Friday the commemoration of the Lord’s Passion will take place at 7 p.m. with the Easter Vigil beginning at 8:30 p.m. Easter Sunday worship service is at 8:15 a.m.

St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder will have Holy Thursday Service at a p.m. with Adoration until 10 p.m. Friday services will be at 3 p.m. with Sunday service at 10:15 a.m.

St. John, Ridgeley, Lutheran Church will have Good Friday services at 7 p.m. Easter services services will be at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast following.
