NBC one act is conference champ

For the first time in 13 years, North Bend Central thespians have been named East Husker Conference champions. The competition took place Nov. 20 at Wisner-Pilger High School. The NBC students performed “Runaways” by Elizabeth Swados. Katie Mann directed with the assistance of Dan Wright who also did the set design.

“I will never forget the look on the kids’ face when they announced North Bend Central as East Husker Conference Champions,” Mann said.

In addition to the play receiving the top award a number of student actors were selected for individual honors from all the actors in nine conference schools (the conference schools are in two divisions). Ella Endorf received the best actress award and Brock Ray the best supporting actor. Receiving recognition for superior acting were Miranda Trowbridge, Chloe Kirschenmann, Zander Gibney, Harley Cave, Hailey Anderson and Bethany Wiebold.
