The first 1Box Goose Hunt was held this past weekend. First place winners, out of 14 teams, are pictured above.

Placing second was the ‘Goosebusters’ team made up of Bryan Spilinek, John Gibny, Travis Johnson, Damien Hartung, with Chris Emanuel and Jim Lewis as guides.

‘The Breakfast Club’ team of Adam Emanuel, Conner Emanuel, Brandon Berry, Jerry Floral and guide Tyler Hoops placed third.

First and second place each won shotguns for all four team members and guides while third place won their money back. Top three teams also won additional cash from team auction. In total, first place won over $10,000 in value. There were also gun winners for the little and big goose. The event also raised over $1,500 for the community of North Bend.

“The overall event turned out great,” co-chairman Nick Emanuel said. “We have had nothing but extremely positive compliments. It appears we have set the stage for much larger success in future years. We can’t thank all the landowners and guides enough, as they really catered all the hunters to a top notch quality experience.”

In addition to the teams that were drawn from applicatns to buy their way into the tournament, a team of veterans selected by the Fallen Outdoors organizaion participated, with its entry fee paid for by an anonymous donor. Steve Farris, a Fremont native who went on to become a Grammy nominated guitarist and founding member of the band Mr. Mister, was the guide for the vet team.
