No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Dodge or Saunders counties last week as the positivity rate for the Three Rivers Public Health Department fell to 4.1% for the week of June 21.

Forty of Nebraska’s 93 counties have reported no new COVID-19 cases in the 14-day period that ended Monday.

The 3RPHD, which includes Washington County in addition to Dodge and Saunders, remains under the same Directed Health Measure that took effect June 22 and runs through July 31. However, one scheduled change in the DHM took effect July 1 in that contact sports may now practice or play games, including football, basketball and wrestling. See the text of the current DHM on the COVID-19 page of NorthBendEalge.com.

As of Monday morning, hospitals in the 3RPHD area reported 96 patients hospitalized with COVID-19,with 301 medical beds available. Twenty-one COVID patients were on ventilators with 362 ventilators available.

As some restrictions are lifted, 3RPHD reminds you to assume COVID-19 is present in all communities and to maintain social distancing, wear a mask in public and wash your hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water.
