NORTH BEND – After COVID-19 forced the postponement of Old Settlers in June, the North Bend Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled the event for the weekend of August 14-16.

While the DC Lynch carnival will not make an appearance, the tentative schedule includes a beer garden, cornhole tournament, kids games, craft fair, parade, fireworks, food stands and more.

“We recognize with all that is going on, our scaled-down version of the Old Settlers this year might not draw the crowds it usually does,” Chamber president Nathan Arneal said, “but we hope those who do come out have a really good time.”

The craft fair is a new event to Old Settlers that will take place in the park Saturday, Aug. 15. A portion of the proceeds will go to the North Bend Senior Center. For more information or to sign up for a vendor booth, contact Sherry Raymond at 402-657-7495. Vendor pre-registration is required.

A full schedule of events will be posted to once everything is confirmed.

Announcements and updates will also be made from the North Bend Old Settlers Facebook page.

Arneal said the Old Settlers Planning Committee will keep an eye on the Directed Health Measure for August when it is released by the state to make sure all events comply with state regulations. There is a chance some or all of the events could be canceled if the DHM does not allow for them.
