NBC contemplates graduation

Posted 4/2/20

The following statement was released by North Bend Central superintendent Dan Endorf, regarding the governor's directives on graduation. It was relased as a phone message on the Tiger Talk calling system as well as posted on the school's website.

As many of you know by now, yesterday the Governor directed schools to operate without students in buildings through May 31, 2020. This announcement eliminates the possibility of extracurricular activities occurring at NBC, or on a statewide basis for that matter, for the remainder of the traditional school year. This restriction does not apply to school staff working in school buildings, but it does enhance the district’s earlier decision to significantly limit student access to the school buildings.

Like you, I have questions on the impact this decision may have on the graduation ceremony at NBC scheduled for May 17th. As I learn more about the Governor’s directive in the days to come, I will pass it along to all of you through Tiger Talk and the school website. Please keep in mind, the district will do all we can to hold some likeness of a graduation ceremony in a manner and at a time that is deemed safe and wise in light of the coronavirus crisis.
