A teacher at North Bend Central Elementary and Middle School has been removed from duties while the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office investigates an incident that occurred at the school Feb. 17.

According to a statement by the Sheriff’s Office, the alleged incident was between a teacher and several students. All parents of juveniles were immediately contacted by the Sheriff’s Office.

The incident was first reported by the Norfolk Daily News Thursday after an NBE parent reached out to the newspaper with the story.
According to the Daily News, a male teacher allegedly held down an elementary student and allowed other students to hit the restrained student in the stomach.

The parent told the Daily News that there is video of the alleged incident, and it has been turned over to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

The DCSO said in its Feb. 24 release that no further information will be released until the conclusion of the investigation.

North Bend Central declined comment, citing privacy and confidentiality laws.
