The boil order North Bend residents have been under for over a week will continue until at least Friday, August 25, city clerk Theresa Busse told the Eagle Tuesday. PeopleService is testing North Bend's water five times a day. To have the boil order lifted, the water must pass all five tests two days in a row. For the past two days, the water has passed four of the five tests. As a result, the water will continue to be tested daily and the soonest North Bend will know if it has been cleared is Friday after water samples from Wednesday and Thursday are tested. North Bend residents have been asked to boil water before consuming it since Monday, August 14, after a lighting strike to the water plant caused a computer shutdown. The shutdown caused the city's system to lose all water pressure, which triggered a state-mandated boil order. The water is safe to use in any capacity other than drinking or ingesting. Showering, watering lawns, washing dishes, etc. are all safely allowed.
