Platte Valley Bank celebrates 135 yearsPublished 6/17/26 NORTH BEND –A remarkable milestone in Nebraska banking history will be celebrated on June 26, as Platte Valley Bank marks its 135th anniversary of serving North Bend, Morse Bluff and surrounding communities. To commemorate the occasion, Platte Valley Bank invites customers, friends, and community members to stop by the bank lobby between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for complimentary ice cream sundaes, fellowship, and a celebration of the institution’s enduring commitment to community banking. Founded in 1891, Platte Valley Bank has witnessed generations of economic growth, agricultural development, technological change, and community progress. Throughout its history, the bank has remained dedicated to the principles of personal service, financial strength, and local decision-making. One of the most distinctive aspects of Platte Valley Bank’s history is its leadership by four generations of the same family. The Wolf family’s stewardship began with Emil E. Wolf in 1910, followed by Arden D. Wolf in 1955, Thomas E. Wolf in 1974 and Katy Wolf Bode in 2004. Today, the bank stands among a select group of Nebraska banks that have been managed by four or more generations of the same family. “I am tremendously proud of our loyal staff and their commitment to our customers and community,” Bode said. “We continue to keep integrity and financial stability in the forefront. We are committed to meeting our customers’ needs first. We participate in civic activities that make our community a better place to live, work, and play.” Bode also expressed appreciation for the generations of customers who have contributed to the bank’s success.
