Old Settlers theme announced

“Old Settlers and Founding Fathers” is the theme of the 2026 Old Settlers celebration in North Bend, set for June 26-28.
This year’s Old Settlers will be a celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States.

Saturday evening of Old Settlers will feature a birthday party, complete with cake, ice cream and party games to mark the USA semiquincentennial. At that time, the time capsule in the park will be opened, and an “old settler” look alike contest will be held, with the winner receiving a processed hog.

Organizations planning entries in the Old Settlers parade are encouraged to incorporate the Old Settlers and Founding Fathers theme into their float.

The Old Settlers Planning Committee is also preparing a bigger-than-normal fireworks show to celebrate the USA 250. Donation buckets have been set out at select local businesses to support the fireworks show.
