North Bend Ambush vs. Dodge Gamecocks
Feb. 22, 2015, at Dodge - Playoffs First Round
Summary: The North Bend Ambush avenged their biggest loss of the season with a victory in the first round of the Farmland League playoffs Sunday.
Dodge defeated the Ambush by 21 in December – North Bend’s only loss this year by more than five points – but this time the script was flipped with a 19-point win for the Ambush.
Kale Wietfeld got off to a scorching start, making three 3-pointers in the opening minutes of the game. It was a sign of things to come as the Ambush rookie, who averaged 15 points per game during the regular season, exploded for 41 points on the night.
Bryan Ruzek, the two-time Farmland MVP, stepped to the perimeter in the second half to keep Dodge within shouting distance and ended up with 37 points.
The 97 points were the most scored by the Ambush in franchise history. North Bend had a chance at 100, but a wide-open 3-point attempt with a minute left airballed.
