2021 Farmland Playoffs

2021 playoff bracket

Dodge won its third straight Farmland title in thrilling fashion over Howells and extended its winning streak to 24 games.

Dodge and Howells will face off in the Farmland championship for the third time, as the 2021 bracket has gone chalk so far. Both the Gamecocks and Hoosiers had to win close semifinals to advance. The championship game will be Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. in Dodge.

Wisner and West Point move on to the semifinals where Dodge and Howells await.

With Dodge and Howells secure in the top two spots, the rest of the bracket filled in on the final week of regular season action. Head-to-head results broke the tie with West Point getting the No. 3 seed over Winser and Clarkson getting in at No. 6 over North Bend.

Going into the final week of the regular season, Dodge and Howells have alread secured the top two playoff seeds. It is possible that the other five teams could all end the season tied at 2-4. If that happens here is how the final four seeds will be determined (this is the tiebreaker for any ties, not just a 5-way tie):

1. Head to head record against the other teams they are tied with.
(If the 5-way 2-4 scenario happens, all teams will still be tied after this step because eveyone went 0-2 against Howells and Dodge and 2-2 against everyone else)

2. Highest victory margin against the tied teams
(If there are more than two teams tied, the team with the best victory margin against all the teams it is tied with is pulled out and given the highest available seed. At that point, the tiebreaker process starts over with Step 1, and if there is a team that has a better record than others against tied teams, it gets the next highest seed. If at this step there are two teams tied for the highest victory margin, the head-to-head result between those two teams will determine the higher seed.)

3. Coin flip.
(If there are more than two teams with the same head-to-head record and the same victory margin, then names will be drawn out of a had to determine the remaining seeds. In a single round-robin schedule like we play, it is impossible for only two teams to reach this step since there would be a head-to-head result in that case.)
