The North Bend Area Community Foundation

Purpose:

The North Bend Area Community Foundation was established in 2000 for the purpose of receiving, administering and disbursing funds for community improvement and assistance in areas such as civic, cultural, educational, health and welfare needs. With the belief that a community is only as strong as the people who support it, you are invited to play a role in providing that support. Your gifts will help provide numerous benefits to the North Bend area community.

Organization:

You can send your gifts and donations to the North Bend Foundation at:

The North Bend Area Community Foundation has a local Board of Directors who will receive, administer and invest funds donated to the foundation. The board will also make recommendations for the investment and disbursement of funds for improvement in the North Bend area. The board is dedicated to prudently managing the assets, as well as disbursing grants as determined by a majority of the members. The local foundation is a component of the Fremont Area Community Foundation, a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation whose funds must be utilized for charitable needs. The FACF will make final decisions on disbursement of all funds.

Advantages:

Many people wish to return a portion of the rewards of a successful life to the community where they have lived, worked or have other ties. The North Bend Area Community Foundation provides a vehicle for receiving donations for the benefit of the community that will also provide tax benefits for the donor. As a component of the Fremont Area Community Foundation, Inc., your gifts are fully tax deductible under the Internal Revenue Service tax code. Being associated with FACF also provides administrative expertise. The FACF has always been generous to the North Bend area and that relationship will continue. However, the North Bend component will fill a need for a local fund for donors who wish their contributions to be used exclusively to benefit the North Bend community.

Flexibility:

There are several ways to make tax deductible, charitable donations to the North Bend Area Community Foundation and invest in the future of the community. Gifts of all types are accepted, including, but not limited to:

• Individual cash contributions
• Memorial gifts
• Gifts given in honor of a special person or special occasion
• Congratulatory contributions (given in lieu of a gift for birthdays anniversaries or other holidays)
• Gifts of appreciated property- real estate, securities, etc. (By giving, you may avoid tax on capital gains and receive a charitable contribution for 100 percent of the fair market value of the property)
• Estate bequests

The Board of Directors can provide assistance to prospective donors and their professional advisors regarding giving plans that will best benefit donors and the community.
