Michael G. Odvody of Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

Michael Odvody

Odvody, 52, apparently lost control of his 2007 Suzuki Boulevard motorcycle while entering the ‘S’ curve of Highway 79 about six and a half miles north of North Bend.

A Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputy observed Odvody leaving North Bend and heading north shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, and it is estimated that the accident took place between 1:15 and 1:30 a.m. Odvody was wearing a helmet.

A passing motorist called 911 at 4:49 a.m. to report seeing a motorcycle in the north ditch of the ‘S’ curve. The North Bend Fire Department was called to the scene at 4:52 and the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Odvody grew up in Morse Bluff and was a 1974 graduate of North Bend Central.
