Gail Hille thinks North Bend can support its own thrift store. She plans to open a combination gift and thrift store at 615 Main Street, just north of City Hall. Gail’s will offer new gifts and select consignment items.

“It will be unique in its own way,” Hille said. “I see the store as a service or opportunity for everyone to be able to shop or sell items in North Bend.”
Hille will be opening Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Initially she will be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays but hopes to add evenings and more days later.

Hille will be accepting select consignment items that she will sell and return a percentage of the sale to the person who brought it in. At this time she is looking for homemade craft items that can be Christmas gifts. Anyone with crafts, homemade or other items to sell can contact Hille at 719-4816.

Hille has lived in the North Bend area for four years with her husband, Chris, and granddaughter, Hope. She has done many different artistic endeavors, including murals and window paintings for businesses in downtown North Bend last Christmas, and a lot of craft work. She has helped others organize yard sales and feels comfortable opening a quality thrift store.

By next spring, Hille hopes to have more crafts of her own on display in the store.

“I hope Gail’s will be a service to the community as well as a profitable business,” Hille said.
