Library contractor selectedby Mary Le Arneal The North Bend Library Foundation has selected Lacey Construction, Inc., of Wahoo and Omaha, for constructing the new library building at Main and 13th streets. “The bids were all pretty close,” Post said. “Lacey’s base bid was low enough that we were able to include the alternate items, the geothermal system and underground sprinklers for the lawn.” The contract has been signed and construction will begin as soon as possible. Lacey estimated that the project will take six months, with the end of October set as target date. Chuck L. Lacey Jr. is the general contractor with Mike Fritsinger the on-site job site supervisor. Bob Soukup from Carlson West Povondra Architedtural Firm will be the professional in charge and Brian Demobowski, also with CWP, will be the construction administrator. Other work that Lacey Construction, Inc., has done include Security Home Bank addition and remodeling in Malmo; QC Supply Store in Elkhorn; St. John’s School remodeling in Weston; Saunders County Historical historic renovation to train depot; new sheep and goat barn at fairgrounds for the Saunders County Ag Society. Post said the Library Foundation is excited to get construction started and wanted people to know that the present mound will not be that big on the finished building. Examples of the exterior and interior walls and flooring finishing material are on display at the library. Tax deductible donations are still being accepted for the project. They can be dropped off at the library or mailed to P.O. Box 56, North Bend, NE 68649. <<Back to the front page |
