Pantry closed for holidays, makes changesPublished 12/11/24 NORTH BEND – The Blessings Pantry, located at the North Bend United Presbyterian Church, will be closed for the holidays the weeks of Dec. 23 and Dec. 30. The pantry will reopen on Monday, Jan. 6. Pantry hours will remain the same in 2025: first and third Mondays of the month from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Thursday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A new policy will be instituted in January. Patrons must provide both a photo ID and a current utility bill to be able to access the pantry. This new requirement is in addition to the current pantry usage policies. Patrons must be from the North Bend school district and may only select items for people in their own household. Patrons may shop once per week, may fill one provided paper bag or two plastic bags and must take note of the limits on items. The pantry is meant to be a stop gap, not a full grocery shopping experience. Patrons can take only what they need as others depend on the pantry, too. As far as Christmas meals, the patry will be providing a meat and a dessert for those patrons who sign up. Distribution will be the week of Dec. 16.
