The North Bend Eagle

General Election 2024

Updated 11/6/24, 11:28 a.m.

11:28 a.m. - According to the Dodge County Clerk's office, the only votes that have yet to be counted are the provisional votes, which are votes by people that have moved or who voted in the wrong precinct. The county official said there are "a bunch" of those to count, and she was unclear when that would be done. Whether they will affect the races we are monitoring remains to be seen, but we feel the chances of any results below changing are minimal.

11:05 a.m. - The morning update in Dodge County has Legge and Fischer ahead in the North Bend City Council race. This is likely the final result and the vote count has now exceeded the 2020 turnout by a significant margin, 121%. New Dodge and Saunders county votes were added to the school board race, where the three candidates on the ballot will easily win the seats. However, the Morse Bluff Village Board numbers did not change, supporting last night's conclusion that the Morse Bluff votes were already all in.

1:54 a.m. - The Eagle is going to call it a night. Updates were coming slower this year than previous elections. We still expect a big update in the North Bend vote that will determine the city council race. We will check back in later today.

12:30 a.m. - Dodge County has finally given an update including Election Day numbers. The North Bend City Council race has tightened, as Waylon Fischer takes a 1 vote lead over incumbent Bart Bosco. We believe there are still more North Bend votes to be counted as the current vote totals sit at just 60% of the 2020 vote. The school board vote is sitting at 48% of 2020.

12:10 a.m. - A big update from Saunders County has dropped. This could be the complete Morse Bluff vote, as the vote totals are very similar (93%) to the 2020 vote.

12:02 a.m. - Colfax County has released its first numbers, and it looks like the three voters in the NBC district have let their voices be heard. This is likely all we will get or need from Colfax County.

10:58 p.m. - Dodge County has released its first numbers from Election Day. However, it did not include any North Bend votes, so there is not change to our numbers.

8:54 p.m. - Saunders County has released its totals from early voting, adding votes to the NBC school board and the Morse Bluff Village Board races. The Morse Bluff vote is currentlly about 42% of what the final totals were in 2020. Keep in mind no Election Day votes have been released yet by any of the counties.

8:38 p.m. - The first Dodge County numbers are out, comprising just of the early votes. The incumbent city councilman take the early lead, as do the three school board candidates on the ballot. Compared to the 2020 election, about 38% of the North Bend city vote is in and about 18% of the NBC school district vote has been counted.

8:11 p.m. - Here we go! So far no results have been released. They early voting numbers should come out shortly. The Eagle will be tracking the local races listed below once vote totals start coming out.
