Walla adds to own vault record

Alexis Allgood wasn’t the only Tiger to set a school record at Bergan last Tuesday [April 30, 2013].

Cassidy Walla also added to her own record in the pole vault. After initially setting the record at 10 feet last year, the sophomore has increased it to 10-3 and now 10-6 this season.

The record-breaking effort earned her the gold medal at the Bergan Invite.
Coach Jeff Voss said Walla’s consistency has almost made her excellence easy to take for granted.

“You almost say, ‘Ho, hum, Cassidy went 10 foot again,” he said.

After clearing 8 feet in the season-opening indoor meet, Walla has been over 10 feet in every meet since, a streak of five outings. [Note: streak grew to seven outings through 2013 state meet]
