2023 Farmland Playoffs

Feb 12: Howells knocked off the No. 1 seed in the semis and the No. 2 seed in the final to claim its fifth Gold Tractor and first since 2018. Read about the championship game here.

Feb 5: There were some new teams that spent much of the season at or near the top of the Farmland standings, but in the end it will be Dodge and Howells playing for the Golden Tractor for the fourth straight year and fifth time in six seasons.

Dodge held off upstart Arlington, who found new life in the playoffs while Howells knocked off top-seeded and previously undefeated Wisner. The 2023 champinship game will be Sunday at Dodge in what will be the Gamecocks seventh home game of the season. Dodge was 5-1 at home and 0-1 on the road this season.

Jan 29: Arlington gets its second straigh win – their only two wins – with a strong showing against North Bend in the first round, pulling the 3-6 upset to advance to face Dodge. Howells nearly reached the century mark in their first round win over West Point and is ready to take on the undefeated top-seeded Wisner Beef. The Hoosiers have now won four in a row after starting the season 0-3.

Jan 22: The field is set. With all the chances for 3-way ties, the seeding broke rather simply. There were two ties, for second and fourth, that were easliy broken by head-to-head results. Wisner and Dodge earn the first round byes. Howells and North Bend will host first-round games. Arlington was the last one in with their win in the final week over Pender.

Jan 18: With one week left in the regular season, here's what we know: Wisner will be the top playoff seed and the winner of the Pender and Arlington game will be the No. 6 seed. Everything else varies widely depending on the outcome of the Jan. 22 games.

It is possible North Bend, Dodge and West Point all finish 4-2 after going 1-1 against each other. In that case, the team with the lowest point differential in games played among the three teams will be the fourth seed. The team that won head-to-head between the remaining two teams will take the No. 2 seed.

If West Point loses to Wisner, the Cowtippers will fall to the No. 5 seed and Howells will take the No. 4 seed and the North Bend vs. Dodge game will decide the 2 and 3 seeds.

Any way you look at it, the 2023 playoffs should be highly competative.
